Week 32

OK so first off, sorry about my letter last week, i thought about it and it sounded worse than it really was, i was a little down, but nothing serious, and I want you guys to know that MIRACLES DO EXIST.

This week was the week of an investigator named Librada and her son Chandel, here is the story.

MIRACLE #1
in December, the missionaries contacted her and she had had some problems with her old church, some things she knew werent right, but she had been a part of that church for years, but she offered a prayer and that week, the missionaries showed up (E. Ramos and E. Celaya) i replaced elder Celaya.

MIRACLE #2
about a month ago, she had been meeting with us and listening, but one day she just told us that she was gonna try going back to her old church and that she appreciated our time, but that it wasnt for her... she didnt understand the purpose of the book of mormon, nor had she read it. we explained again the restauration and the purpose of the book of mormon and challenged her to read it. she accepted to try investigating more, she is now reading in ALMA.

MIRACLE #3
this week we invited her to baptism, and she shared an experience that you dont hear everyday, that she had had prayed about the Book of Mormon and the LDS Church and later dreamt about us and the members of the church standing out near the ocean along the highway here in our area, she said she didnt see any other churches, just ours. she said that she had also read in Mosiah 18 about baptism and new thats what she wanted :) she has a goal to be baptized the 19th of march along with her 12 year old son chandel :) she also came to church for the first time this week and really got along well with everyone there (as far as i know;) haha

so really i cant complain, i know that our obedience helps us be more in tune with the spirit, and that our faith and the faith of the people we share with brings miracles :)

few other things this week.

we went 4 days without water #BUCKETSHOWERS!
I interviewed two kids for baptism in the area of the elders in our district, super cool experience!
melibett was interviewed for her baptism which will be next saturday :)

overall, great week :)
nuff said or today, love you all!

Week 31

well, not much to talk about this week, sorry i didnt write yesterday, we had a zone conference and p day was today! I got a new comp, he is from honduras, pretty chill, he has 17 months in the mission, so im trying to learn from him, we are trying to be obedient as well, mainly because we had a sweet zone conference this week in the capital and learned about a bunch of miracles that have happened in the month of january, including in our area, and I want to see more coming. and president taught us a great lesson on obedience with exactness and how it relates hand in hand with our faith in Jesus Christ.

I spent a lot of time thinking about miracles and faith, and how strong is my faith. I have a strong testimony and all, I just am hearing all these crazy stories of people recieving revelation and having dreams, and well... the only dreams ive been having lately are of how the new star wars movie is, and that I went to the super bowl and had to sub in as kicker for the broncos... so im working on that, I want those kind of experiences, which means I have to use more faith, which means I will have to be more obedient, for example, not singly worldy songs playing on the radio, leaving the house exactly and 10:00 and 3:00 and im trying to pray with more faith as well, have more meaningful prayers.

I guess i hit my 6 month mark and got a little comfortable this last transfer, letting some of the little things go, and its wierd cuz we had a bunch of success, but now i think the lord is giving me a wake up call, we only had 1 investigator come to church this week, but he has a baptism date for the 19th of march which is cool, and we have one other date for the 27th of this month, but we really are dry on people to teach, i guess its time to re-evaluate the obedience level, work hard and smart, and leave the rest to the faith in the Lord :)

all is well, this saturday was cool thier was a valentines party for the ward, adult couples only, but we got invited to serve the food, so that was fun, haha :)

also played P-DAY football for the first time in the mish, which was super fun, we didnt get money like we were supposed to, so instead of spending money, i organized an activity to play football, all the elders except for two came, super fun and some of the latinos including my comp really enjoyed the game haha :)

miss you guys, glad to hear the sports are going well, i pray for you guys every day, know I love you and I know this church is true :)

ELDER AUGER

while we were in the street one day, found this kid with a tim tebow jersey and had to take a pic, i tried to explain the word SUPERBOWL, he didnt have a clue, too funny ;)
SO here is my new comp, ELDER SIERRA from Honduras, he is chill, we are getting to know eachother more now
P day football, such a blast ;)

Week 30

so this week not to much happened around here, it was the last week of the transfer, and Elder Ramos is leaving, im staying and recieving a new comp named Elder Cierra? I think thats how you spell it, ill let you know when I meet him :) we have been contacting trying to find more people to teach, since we baptized a lot of our previous investigators, but its chill, not like thats something to complain about ;) haha

I did however have a really interesting spiritual experience, we were coming back from a lunch appointment and this guy picked us up, gave us a ride to our house, he told us a little about his life, he knows all about the mormons, said he has talked to missionaries before, never found his self to interested, he told us about how he has 17 kids, with about 7 different wives, smokes, drinks, lives the wild life, cuz he claims thats how he was raised... really sad, and it made me think about how blessed I am to have been born into such a strong family and comunity that strengthened and taught me good gospel principles, we got back to the house and I went into my study room and just knelt in silent prayer for a few minutes and offered thanks to the Lord for the life he has given me, I really am too blessed, and I guess thats part of the reason I am here in the DR to share these blessings with those around me who didnt get the same calling here on earth that I did. #TRULY GRATEFUL

on the other side of grateful, the Broncos won the super bowl, first Star Wars 7 came out, and now this? I guess the Lord is teaching me the insignificance of Worldly things... haha
Naw but way cool, glad to hear the Good news, just super jealous! haha

quick announcement, i was made district leader as well, president called me, i will be starting this week
all is well, couldnt be happier, miss you guys tons, but know this is where Im supposed to be :)

HASTA LUEGO!
