Week 44

so ya, we hit 10 months baby, feeling older in the mission, well, i was, then my comp, elder zamora got a call from the assistants asking when he wanted to go home and to what airport. i was wrong, still young, sorry mom and dad ;)

this week was great though, we had 2 baptisms in San Vicente, we had 3 planned, but one fell through, we are working there, but Indhira, and Rachel were able to be baptized this sunday, and it was great, we also had about 6 investigators there watching, super great experience, the miracles are real and the Lord is blessing us immensly. Super happy to be in the mission during such a time of blessing.

another wierd little miracle is a little experience I had. we visited this guy who spoke english. turns out he is this crazy guy. he told us all this really wierd, and somewhat dark ideas about what he thought god was. he ended up making a lot of really wierd questions that i couldnt really answer, nor my comp, mainly because they were questions that we dont need to know the answer to, but its still bugged me. we went home and studied it that night, then my comp saved the day, i was really getting confused and had tons of questions, then my comp resolved everything with one scripture: 2 Timothy 2:23, i dont know how it is in english, only got it in spanish, but its a great one to ease doubts to tough questions :) then we were sharing with a less active the next day, who shared that he had so many questions and doubts which we were able to ease with the same topic we had just experienced and studied, wierd, and a little scary, but a miracle either way.

the other big news is that the DR had their elections this week, so sunday we had to go home early, elder zamora and I spent the time in the house, playing mini table tennis, many games of chess (which we both really enjoy!), listening to church talks, and talking about home, super good time, we just got a little trunky though ;) haha all is well though!

anyways, i love you all tons, and know that i appreciate all your prayers, thoughts and love, i keep you in the same prayers every day :) until next week!

ELDER AUGER

so here we have Rachel and Indhira who got baptized this sunday, super awesome service, we had about 6 investigators in church to see it as well, we are finding new people to teach, lots of related family members, also working with less actives, finding new investigators there as well, really learning to work effectively, seeing lots of miracles in the process :)

then also the mini ping pong table we set up in our house when we got stuck in the house during the crazy time of elections... anyways super good week, love you all! be safe and CTR!

Week 43

This mothers day was awesome, so nice to hear from the family, miss you guys tons, made me a little trunky, but know its back to work, and all is good, i loved the advice and everything you guys do for me, literally have the best family ever!

this week has been a good one, preparing for transfers, we got zone shirts this transfer, they look pretty dope, like a baseball jersey, everyone was pretty happy with them. but its been wierd to see people having thier last district meeting, last sunday, last nightly report in the mission, time seems to fly, when i got here, these guys had just a little over a year and now they are heading home, crazy, just gotta live it up and enjoy the work, 2 years are short, im learning to make the most of it while i can!

we are planning on having 3 baptisms this coming week, if all goes as planned, Reichel, Endira, and Marion are 3 teenage girls who have been going to seminary and church for a long time, just have lacked the courage to take the final step of baptism, some are partial member family investigators, one has a brother who is a return missionary, and others have parents who are less actives, and we are seeing miracles in each of thier families by the faith these young women have, super excited for that!

also, i will be staying here with elder Zamora for another transfer which is awesome, the kid is a beast, only has 2 and a half transfers left...... but he still works as hard as a new greenie in the field, love that kid!

all is well, the mission is teaching me so much, im excited to be able to see more of the miracles and blessings the mission brings into your life.

oh and this week i got hit by a flying plantain. really hurt...

until next week! love you guys!

Week 42

So its the end of the month of april, crazy, time is flying by.

glad to hear about the awesome week you guys had, super busy its sounds like, keep up the good work, and good luck to p num as president! dope! id love to hear more about the womens conference as well, sounds sweet!

this week went well, first off, a funny story, so we were on the bus ride home and this lady gets on the bus and just starts preaching away (which happens a lot here) she was saying some nice things, but lacked a little bit of gospel truth, so i was sitting behind her and decided to help out! i introduced myself and she said it was nice to meet me, but then kept on preaching and as she went on i began whispering things in her ear, she would say "the salvation comes from the word of god!" and i would add (and by faith in Jesus Christ) and she would say what i had just whispered, then went on and said "the bible is the key to eternal life" and i would say (also baptism and the gift of the holy ghost) and she would preach it loud and proud! haha we basically shared lesson 3 (the gospel of JC) through this pentacostal lady, super awesome and funny at the same time, we left her a pamphlet, hope she reads it ;) haha

we finished the month off well, seeing tons of miracles, in our zone, 10 out of the 12 companionships baptized, we have plans do even better this month. Elder Zamora and I are getting along super well, we spent all week helping out other areas find and invite people to baptism, its cool to see our zone working as a team.

we found tons of new people prepared to hear the gospel this week, including families that have lost members to cancer and other accidents, people looking for the TRUE CHURCH OF CHRIST, and others in need of the gospel, really loving the work and seeing the progress here in our area.

today we had our zone activity, Elder Zamora and I set up an obstacle course in the cultural hall of the stake center, which was really fun, we all did it, even the sisters, i was proud of them ;) then all the missionaries brought a food to share from thier own country, it was awesome, coolest things ever really, we ate tons of food, i brought PB and J, really original i know, but no one left hungry, and the Latinos really liked it, no one really its that outside the US, i didnt know that...

anyways, all is well, love and miss you all tons, cant wait to talk mothers day this sunday :D super awesome!!!!

the church is true, christ lives, miracles still happen! MORONI 7:26-29

until next week!
